Louise Gold's extensive theatre experience includes, most recently, playing Dottie Ottley in the National Theatre's award winning revival of Noises Off and playing The Duchess of Plaza Toro in The Gondoliers and Mrs Do As You Would Be Done By in The Water Babies during the Chichester Festival Season of 2003.
West End performances include Phyllis in Follies (Royal Festival Hall), Tanya in Mamma Mia! (Prince Edward), Lili/Kate in Kiss Me Kate, Adraiana in The Boys From Syracuse and Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream (Regent's Park Open Air Theatre), Sarah Jane Moore in Assassins (Donmar Warehouse), Fanny Brice in Ziegfeld (London Palladium), Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes (Prince Edward), Sister Mary Amnesia in Nunsense (Fortune Theatre), Sink The Belgrano (Mermaid Theatre), Katisha in The Metropolitan Mikado (Queen Elizabeth Hall) and Isobel in The Pirates of Penzance (Theatre Royal Drury Lane).
Other Theatre includes Side by Side by Sondheim (Civic Theatre, Chelmsford), Man of La Mancha (Music Theatre, London), Dunyasha in Adrian Noble's production of The Cherry Orchard (Royal Shakespeare Company), Lady into Fox (national tour), Caucasian Chalk Circle and Our Country's Good (Edinburgh Lyceum), the title role in Calamity Jane and Giussie in Merrily We Roll Along (Leicester Haymarket), The Taming of the Shrew (Nuffield Southampton), Poppy (Half Moon Theatre, London), When I was a Girl I Used to Scream and Shout (Mercury Theatre, Colchester), Blood Brothers (Watermill Newbury) and Once A Catholic (Theatre Royal York).
Louise has performed her One Woman Show at the Jermyn Street Theatre and Lauderdale House and appeared in the cabaret Anna Rexic and the Compulsives at the Royal Court Theatre and The Drill Hall. She has also appeared in several Lost Musicals including a Radio 3 Broadcast of her performance as Dubarry in Dubarry was a Lady. Other radio credits include Into Exile, Ned Sherrin's Review of Revue, Look Sharp, Let's Do the Show Right Here, The Treatment, Let 'Em Eat Cake and 20-20 Hindsight.
On television she has been seen in Doctors, Alexei Sayle's Merry Go Round, The Bill, Casualty, The House of Elliot, Hands Together, 'Allo 'Allo, Julia and Company, Rachel and the Roarettes, Blackadder, For 4 Tonight, Joint Account and Laugh I Nearly Paid My License Fee.
Films include Mike Leigh's Topsy Turvy, The Pirates of Penzance and Billy the Kid and the Green Baize Vampire.
Louise was a founder member of the Spitting Image team as a puppeteer and her voices included The Queen, Princess Diana and Nancy Reagan. She was also a member of Jim Henson's team as a puppeteer and voice artist performing regularly in The Muppets TV series and in the Muppet Movies including The Great Muppet Caper, The Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island. Also for Henson Productions Louise performed characters in Mopatop's Shop, The Animal Show, The Ghost of Farner Hall and The Secret Life of Toys. Other puppeteering worrk includes Planet Sprogg, Roland Rat and The Spooks of Bottle Bay.
