The 2009/10 Chitty Tour finished at The Congress Theatre in Eastbourne on Saturday 4th September. After 14 months on the road Chitty badly needs an MOT and service so is in the garage for a while. Our thanks go to our wonderful company who were fantasmagorical throughout: the cast, children, dogs, stage management, wigs, wardrobe, carpenters, LX, automation and sound. We will miss you all. Until next time..............

After concluding her sojourn in the Emerald Isle with a standing ovation each night, Chitty is heading into land at the Congress Theatre, Eastbourne. The local children who have been picked to play Vulgarian children in the sewers rehearse today and tomorrow and then the rest of the Company arrive on Wednesday for opening night. We can't wait to spend the last three weeks of our tour beside the great British seaside - we hope we can share our wonderful production with locals and holidaymakers alike.

Chitty opened in Edinburgh to bonny sunny weather and a warm welcome. Everyone arrived safely despite the best efforts of volcanic ash and BA strikes. During the show down times the cast and crew and have been enjoying whiskey distillery and ghost tours despite there being rumours of a theatre ghost at the Playhouse (the resident director organised a ghost walk on the notorious level 9)!

Chitty has returned to the Palace Theatre Manchester and opened to great reviews. We were thrilled with the response from reviewers and audiences alike. Plus press night saw Morris Dancers on the street outside, footballers Wes Brown and Shaun Wright Phillips and some Hollyoakers inside. The footballers even met some of the Chitty cast after the show as well as Chitty herself of course!

The Chitty Company have one week left in Plymouth before they prepare for the first move of the tour. Wolverhampton is next and opens on 29th July. Last time round the move took ten days this time our crew have to do it in five days but with all of our brand new technology we are hoping it is a breeze. Come back later to see how we got on.
